Why am I jealous?
Usually because something you value feels threatened: the bond itself, your sense of being enough, or both at once. Researchers find that jealousy shows up as early as infancy, rises with threats to self-esteem, and runs higher in people with anxious attachment. They also separate the feeling, which is common, from suspicion, which is a different thing.
